What this line break generator does
You write a nice multi-line bio, paste it into Instagram, and everything mashes together into one block. That is not your mistake: Instagram (and TikTok) trims spaces and collapses empty lines when it saves your text. This tool fixes that. You type your text with the line breaks and paragraphs you want, and it hands back a paste-ready version where the gaps actually stick.
The trick is simple: every line that would end up empty gets an invisible character that Instagram will not delete, and the trailing spaces on each line are cleaned up. It works the same for your bio, your caption, comments, and TikTok descriptions.
How to use it
- Type or paste your text into the box, keeping the line breaks you want.
- Choose how many blank lines you want between paragraphs (0, 1, 2, or 3).
- Check the preview: that is how it will look once pasted.
- Hit Copy and drop it into your bio, caption, or comment.
Everything is processed in your browser; your text never travels to a server.
Why Instagram eats your line breaks
When you submit text, Instagram “normalizes” it: it strips the spaces at the start and end, and squeezes two or more empty lines in a row down to nothing. A single line break survives, but an empty line (the one that creates the gap between paragraphs) disappears.
The fix is three steps the tool does for you:
- Trim the spaces and tabs at the end of each line.
- Group consecutive lines of text into paragraphs.
- Fill each blank line with an invisible character:
U+2800(BRAILLE PATTERN BLANK). It is as wide as a space, you cannot see it, and Instagram will not remove it.
For reference, here are the character limits worth keeping in mind (the invisible character and the line breaks count too):
| Instagram field | Character limit |
|---|---|
| Bio | 150 |
| Profile name | 30 |
| Caption | 2200 |
| Comment | 2200 |
Worked example
Say you paste this, with extra trailing spaces and a double gap between the first two blocks:
Welcome to my profile ✨
(empty line)
(empty line)
📍 Santo Domingo
💼 Designer
(empty line)
DM me
With the 1 blank line between paragraphs option, the tool produces six real lines: Welcome to my profile ✨ (23 characters), one invisible line, 📍 Santo Domingo (15), 💼 Designer (10), another invisible line, and DM me (5). Adding the two invisible characters and the five line breaks, the result is 60 characters, well under the bio limit of 150. When you paste it, both gaps stay exactly where you put them.
Frequently asked questions
Why do my lines merge when I save my bio?
Because Instagram trims spaces and collapses empty lines while normalizing text. A single break sometimes holds, but the gap between paragraphs is lost. The invisible character fools that filter: the line “looks” like it has content, so it is kept.
Does the invisible character show up as a weird box?
It should not. U+2800 renders as a blank space on virtually every modern phone and browser. A very old device without the glyph might show a box, but that is rare.
Does this also work for TikTok, WhatsApp, or Facebook?
Yes. The same problem and the same fix apply to TikTok descriptions, WhatsApp statuses, and Facebook posts. Copy and paste just like on Instagram.
Does the invisible character count toward the limit?
Yes. Every invisible character and every line break adds to the total. That is why the tool shows you the count: if you get close to the 150-character bio limit, cut text or use fewer blank lines.
